
Dr. Sangita Mohanty
Dr
Sangita Mohanty presently works as a senior scientist in the Crop Production
Division of ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack. She has obtained
her masters and PhD degrees in Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry from
the premiere Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. Her doctoral
thesis has been awarded with Dr S.P. Raychaudhuri Gold Medal for best Ph.D.
dissertation in 2007 by Indian Society of Soil Science, New Delhi. Because of
her significant contribution towards fertilizer nitrogen management and
enhancing nitrogen use efficiency of rice she was awarded NEWS India-UK Senior
Fellowship in 2017 by Newton Bhabha Virtual Centre for Enhancing N Efficiency
in Whole Cropping System to work as a visiting scientist at University of
Aberdeen, Aberdeen Scotland, UK. She was
also conferred with prestigious Nanaji Deshmukh Award for Outstanding
Interdisciplinary Team Research in Agricultural and Allied Sciences by Indian
Council of Agricultural Resaerch (ICAR) in 2020 for her exemplary contribution towards enhancing N use efficiency of rice
and rice based production system. Her research works in several aspects of carbon
and nitrogen dynamics in soil-plant-atmosphere continuum, greenhouse gas
emission, climate change, nitrogen management have been well documented in more
than 75 research papers published in journals of international national and
repute. In addition to this she has authored more than nine research bulletin,
twenty-five book chapter and five books. Her Google scholar citation is 4090 ,
h-index is 32 and I 10-index is 58.
